There are so many different skin types out there. Some people are dry, others oily, some get the ‘best’ of both. Life can get stressful, and make us lose our natural rhythm and who we are.
During challenging times, it is so important to find time for ourselves, to rest, relax and recuperate. Carve out 30 minutes of your day for some much needed me-time. Pop the kettle on (or pop open a bottle of your favourite wine), grab that book you’ve been meaning to start – it’s time for you.
In a bowl, mash your banana, add your honey and CBD oil and mix. For a smoother mask, add the ingredients to a blender and combine.
Add your lemon juice. When combined, apply the mask and leave it for 15 minutes.
Rinse off with a warm washcloth. Finally, apply your regular moisturiser.
Cut an avocado in half, storing 1 half in the fridge for future use.
Puree the other half and add the olive oil and CBD oil. Mix well, until the ingredients are combined.
Apply the mask and rest for 20 minutes. When the timer ticks, use a cool washcloth to rinse away.
Double the hydration by applying your regular moisturiser.
Prep your skin using a cotton pad of your apple cider vinegar.
In a small bowl, mix the turmeric powder with the honey and CBD and leave for 5 minutes. Once this time is up, apply the mask, avoiding your eye area.
Leave the mask for 15 minutes. Then using a warm washcloth, rinse the mask off. If you discover a yellowish tint on the skin, soak a cotton pad in milk and wipe those areas.
CBD comes in a variety of different strengths, which can be utilised in whichever way the individual sees fit. Just like ingesting CBD, it can be used directly on the skin, or in skincare products, such as creams and lotions.
Research suggests that CBD could help with different skin conditions, including acne and dry skin.
A study from 2014 explained the effects of CBD on human sebocytes. The cells which create sebum, the waxy, oily substance the skin produces. Sebum helps to protect our skin, but when there is an excess of it, it can result in acne. The study suggests that CBD can prevent the sebocytes from creating too much sebum.
Another study in 2019 has suggested CBD could be beneficial for the treatment of acne scars.
An additional study from 2019, states that CBD may be useful for treating the symptoms of dry skin. The anti-inflammatory properties of CBD could reduce eczema triggers.
