It’s CBD o’clock! Here’s How CBD Can Help With The Clocks Changing

The clocks going back will give us an extra hour of sleep and sunlight this Sunday. Here’s how CBD could make it an even better weekend!

What happens when the clocks change?

Every year, the clocks go back by one hour at 2am on the last Sunday of October.

This gives us one extra hour of much needed sunlight and sleep as we get into the darker months.

But this adjustment can take some getting used to.

If your sleeping pattern is very routine, the clocks changing can sometimes mean you’re awake earlier than you need to be.

CBD can help with sleep routine disruptions as it improves the body’s circadian functioning.

This enables a deeper sleep and increases levels of alertness during the day.

Being alert during the day makes you typically more tired when it comes to bedtime.

CBD oil drops can be taken sublingually under the tongue and there are a few methods to aid sleep.

One way is to take a few drops before bed, which is thought to be the best way to achieve a restful night with CBD.

However, everyone has a different tolerance.

Some people find that administering small quantities throughout the day works better for them.

This way the body gradually winds down from a tough day, just in time for bed.

Lavender and chamomile can move aside…

The clocks changing also means we get to enjoy an hour more of the winter sun

Sunlight affects the body’s natural production of serotonin, which has mood-enhancing properties.

As the darker days become more frequent, our bodies produce less serotonin – but this is something else CBD can help with.

Neurologist and Rehabilitation Physician, Professor Mike Barnes MD explained:

“We know that the endocannabinoid system has an effect on overall ‘calmness’ and CBD is a good treatment, amongst other things, for anxiety.”

“It also interacts with other neural systems including serotonin and can improve sleep.”

CBD doesn’t boost serotonin production, but it is thought to boost the body’s recognition and use of it.

It is believed that CBD alters the way the brain’s chemicals respond to the serotonin already in the system.

Although the clocks changing allows us one extra hour of sunlight, that feeling doesn’t normally last long.

But CBD may help you feel the serotonin already in your body, making the winter blues a thing of the past.
